Sprout Hemp Oval Tray by Cheyul. Material: Rubber wood, mother-of-pearl, ottchil lacquer Magam. Size: W380 x D270 x H15 mm. This exquisite Ottchil (natural lacquer) tray, layered over traditional hemp, features mother-of-pearl inlays inspired by the sprout—a timeless symbol of new beginnings. In a poetic twist of design, when two sprout motifs are placed tip-to-tip, they transform into a butterfly, the traditional messenger of happiness. Available in a versatile range of sizes—from delicate coasters for cups and wine glasses to elegant tea trays and full-sized dining mats—each piece seamlessly blends artistic symbolism with everyday utility. Cheyul is a Seoul atelier making lacquer and mother-of-pearl tableware, objects and jewellery by hand; made-to-order pieces can take 3–6 weeks.
